Your Questions About Reiki

Sandra asks…

Can anyone tell me if there is a homopathic remedy for dyspraxia?

My friend’s son was just diagnosed with dyspraxia and she is looking for anything homeopathic – reiki, acupuncture, herbs, tea, etc. that could help. Any other suggestions are very welcome also.

Your Questions About Reiki

The Expert answers:

Here is what I know what we have learned with almost any development issue.. Global delay, autisim, dyspraxia. Etc.. You need to be willing to understand there is no one size fits all for everyone. There is no cure in any form of medicine that always works 100% each person is different, so is the treatment. Very rarely if ever will you find one person who will give you all the right answers. Normally they are found by taking bits and pieces from everywhere. Do not take any one person as the gold standard. Research evaluate and question, all meds, techniques, and therapies. Learn LEARN LEARN!! Nobody will be able to tell your friend more about her child than she already knows. They may be able to just find the most effective roads, and maybe a few shortcuts. It will take work no matter what she does. Nothing will work except a lot of hard work. She must become the therapist, the everyone. She needs for people to teach her so she can help her son when they are not there. She will see him daily, them maybe 2-3 hrs aweek. There is no way they can do more than her personal dedication. My friends son. Who is now 5, he still falls a lot, has some visual problems, and barely talks if at all. But they discovered he can read. Because of her talking and reading to him he can read. And more than that, she caught him writting his name, love, home, dog on his magna doodle. He’s there, it is just taking longer for the outside to let him show it. She needs to call therapist, doctors, natual doctors, everyone, etc… And sometimes in the place you least expect it. You might find the one person who is right for your friends family to help her, help her son. But it will take years, patience, laughter, tears, and most of all dillagence, and love. And listening questions and not taking good enough as an answer. I don’t know if this is what you need but it is what we have had to do. Look around your area. For people who do neurofeed back, natural med specializing in disabilities, behavior modification people who are willing to help you learn how to help. And a really good councelor who your can help your friend when she feels like she can’t do it anymore.

When you look for someone, look for someone who is like the link below.. But even then do not take it as gold question as and be proactive..

Your Questions About Reiki

Lisa asks…

why do my hands and feet keep falling asleep?

I have been to doctors over this for the 2nd time now and even seen a reiki specialist. My hands will fall asleep and go numb all the time, night or day, and they hurt badly. I have been dropping things more often and they feel like they also cramp up after the feeling comes back. Then at certain times my feet and half my legs will fall asleep. Just don’t know what to do and the doctors say they just aren’t sure..
M D (jerry lewis) disease has showed up in our family. Could this be a sign of that ?

Your Questions About Reiki

The Expert answers:

It could be a sign of muscular dystrophy, but there are many possible causes of tingling and that sensation of muscles falling asleep:

Remaining in the same seated or standing position for a long time
Injury to a nerve — for example, a neck injury may cause you to feel numbness anywhere along your arm or hand, while a low back injury can cause numbness or tingling down the back of your leg
Pressure on the spinal nerves, such as from a herniated disk
Pressure on peripheral nerves from enlarged blood vessels, tumors, scar tissue, or infection
Shingles or herpes zoster infection
Lack of blood supply to an area — for example, cholesterol (plaque) build up from atherosclerosis in the legs can cause pain, numbness, and tingling while walking (this is called vascular claudication); frostbite can also reduce blood supply and lead to numbness

Other medical conditions, including:
Carpal tunnel syndrome (pressure on a nerve at the wrist)
Diabetes
Migraines
Multiple sclerosis
Seizures
Stroke
Transient ischemic attack (TIA), sometimes called a “mini-stroke”
Underactive thyroid
Raynaud’s disease
Abnormal levels of calcium, potassium, or sodium in your body
A lack of vitamin B12 or other vitamin
Use of certain medications
Toxic nerve damage due to lead, alcohol, or tobacco
Radiation therapy

Your Questions About Reiki

Mark asks…

who has ever been able to preform telekinesis or move stuff with their minds? Can you tell us how? ?

I don’t believe in telekinesis, I believe in reiki where the hand heats up thus causing stuff to move such as toothpicks over water or small paper. Who has managed to move something with their minds, not by the heat from their hands. No hand involvement.
I personally can’t move objects with heat. That’s just my simple explanation if telekinesis is real

Your Questions About Reiki

The Expert answers:

Heat waves can move very small, light things, but reiki has not been shown to produce these waves; just normal heat. No one has ever moved anything without exerting a physical force of some sort on it. Telekinesis is not physically possible as we understand the laws of physics. Now, if someone claims they can do it, your local physics department would love to meet you. It would be a revolution in science – overturning half of physics! Why would you be so selfish as to hang out in internet forums proclaiming your powers and not actually show someone who could benefit from it?

Your Questions About Reiki

Joseph asks…

How do you know if the Reiki distance healing is working? 10 points?

my mom has many diseases/illnesses but the major one is severe depression, and sometimes anxiety. I ordered a Reiki distance healing for her (over the internet), to help her and heal her energies and emotional well-being. lately, she’s been feeling dizzy (occasionally, like when she was driving, when she was teaching my brother school subjects… etc) and feels like there are some periods of when she feels semi-unconcsious but then becomes ok after like 30 seconds or less. are those symptoms of the Reiki working or is it something else? thank you in advance. (P.S. my mom doesn’t drink or take any drugs or smoke)

Your Questions About Reiki

The Expert answers:

The Reiki will only work if the receiver believes in the healing and is open to it. Distant healing does work, (I have witnessed it) but it is not usually dramatic or immediate. Reiki healing is cumulative and it may take several sessions before there is a noticeable result. I would talk with the practitioner who is performing the healing and see what they have to say. Remember, the results one receives may not be the results one expects. Either way, there are never harmful results from Reiki. It is always positive.

As for the dizziness, etc. Her doctor needs to be made aware. Reiki isn’t a substitute for medical healing. The two go hand in hand.

Your Questions About Reiki

Betty asks…

How does Reiki holistic healing promote better health.?

I heard Reiki is a type of holistic healing,or a practice that promotes better health. Do Reiki healers have better health?

Your Questions About Reiki

The Expert answers:

The story of Reiki, have been shrouded by myth and fable for decades. Much research has been undertaken to discern the true roots of the beautiful Reiki tradition. Reiki is an ever evolving, flexible and creative form of growth, relaxation and development. Practicing Reiki helps create harmony in the body, giving a deep sense of peace and relaxation.

The Reiki system is not the only factor that determines how the body is attuned to the Reiki energy. The person giving a Reiki treatment also receives the healing effect of the energy as it flows through them.

Your Questions About Reiki

Carol asks…

Can anyone tell me the theory of how reiki works?

I would like to know how reiki works, the theory behind it, and the benefits, effects of having the treatment. I can not find any reliable websites so if anyone does know anything, please can you leave me a source. Thankyou

Your Questions About Reiki

The Expert answers:

Nobody knows how it works EXACTLY. Some people say it doesn’t work better than the placebo effect, but from what I get from the placebo effect is that this is only a statistical thing, so placebo is also not EXACTLY defined.

If you are curious, the best thing you can do is see how reiki works FOR YOU. I have heard of amazing results through reiki/placebo, but there is always a risk in healing dynamics, be it mainstream or alternative. So you always need common sense, and that is something you can develop by just observing things as they are.

If you want to understand something about the nature of man, a good place to inform yourself is Lester Levenson. He was a physicist and reached enlightenment through the simple practice of letting go. I found a book with his simple quotes (Ultimate Truth) to be very supportive and it’s a simple proof of the fact that he understood (even MUCH more than most scientists) what health is all about.

Your Questions About Reiki

William asks…

Does Reiki healing encourage discontinuing contact with negative people in one’s life?

My cousin has stopped communicating with me and I don’t know why. She has recently become involved in Reiki and I am supportive of that. But, I am wondering if this is why she has disassociated herself from me. We BOTH have our our problems and I don’t believe I dwell on mine any more so than she does hers.

Do you think I’m onto something, or just being paranoid? (I have asked her and she insists nothing is wrong.)

Your Questions About Reiki

The Expert answers:

Sounds like a vast improvement if 2 people get over rehearsing negative
ideas. No, Reiki does not ask anyone to disassociate with anyone else.
Reiki focus is on the positive. Eliminating the negative is just a bonus.
Most of us just send truth to the person needing to attune to higher Forces.
Most do not take the time to educate the person being treated, we just
comply with the request.

Your Questions About Reiki

Laura asks…

What of Wiccan High Priestess, Reiki and the Shadow Self?

Is it true that if a person does not ‘do the work’ of clearing out their anger and fear and other low vibrational emotions they are more open to low vibrational dark energy?

If a person tries to avoid doing the inner work and pretends everything is ‘love and light’, if they make up a story to cover their past and their pain, shame, or fear, in order to bandage the wound, to hide it, to cover it up, rather than actually facing it, pretending that ‘love and light’ equate to a sort of spiritual cleanse does that not simply give anger, sadness, and fear more power?

The dark side becomes stronger and stronger.

Is is not true that when fear, anger, guilt, old emotional wounds go unaddressed, over time, the person will begin to switch between extreme emotional intensities? From anger, to happiness, to fear, to rage and so forth, unless they work directly with the emotions which need to be addressed?

If a person had been, for example, a drug dealer, and now years later they get into being a ‘healer’ using color therapy, or crystals, or Wicca, or Reiki, or divination, or whatever, and they change their ‘story’ to something like:

“I became a dealer to heal the men who use.”

An absolutely hilarious twist of logic, complete bull, and yet, if the emotions had been addressed the ridiculous ‘story’ might work.

On the other hand if the actual emotions had been addressed honestly and completely the ridiculous and illogical story would not be needed as a crutch.

So again if the ‘dancer’, or dealer, never addresses emotions behind the events of the past, if they simply try to wall them off or hide them in this ‘new identity’ will not the emotions slowly seep in and will they not wonder why it is that despite ‘hiding’ and ‘lying’ about my past these low level emotions and thoughts just keep sneaking back in.

Is the solution then to face the shadow self, clear it out, clean it up and make your life a happier, richer and more complete one rather than trying to force it away?

Or is there no such thing as a shadow self, no such thing as Wicca, no such thing as Reiki, no such thing as crystal healing?

Is all of that a superficial farce created by people running away from life to live in the 21st century equivalent of a commune with swinging and drugs?

Is it all just people wanting power from demons at all costs, lust for power and vengeance?

Or is it all something else?

Your Questions About Reiki

The Expert answers:

As a Wiccan, I don’t believein demons.

And my beliefs are not about lust for power or vengance. I desire neither.

Facing the shadow self for me has been about embracing the dark side, and learning to temper it and channel it for better uses… For example, when I have anger instead of lashing out at others I put it into my art– I paint a picture or write a poem.

As for trying to delude oneself into thinking what you did is good when it wasn’t– that’s self-delusions.

A key tenet of my faith is personal responsibility for myself– part of that is being honest with myself about what I have done. Lying to myself accomplishes nothing.

So yes, basically I think you do remain stagnant and suffer continued setbacks when you are not honest with yourself.

But at the same time, you have to learn to come to terms with the past and mistakes if you are ever to truly move on.
